Stuffed Bun




  • All-Purpose Flour - 21/2 Cup

  • Sugar - 3 - 4 tbsp

  • Melted Butter - 1/4 cup + 1 tbsp Oil (Any flavourless)

  • Baking powder - 3/4 tsp

  • Yeast - 2 tsp

  • Egg - 1 (optional)

  • Salt - a pinch

  • Yoghurt - 1/4 cup

  • Warm milk - 1/4 cup


  • Mix Sugar and Yeast to the warm milk. (Milk should not be too hot. It will not rise the yeast)

  • Mix together All-Purpose Flour, Baking Powder and Salt.

  • Add the yeast mixture, egg and Yoghurt to this mixture.

  • Knead the mixture well till it forms a soft dough. 

  • Add butter - Oil mixture to the dough. KNEAD it well for 8- 10 Minutes till it forms a smooth dough.

  • Cover it with a kitchen towel and keep aside for 1 hour in a warm place.

  • After 1 hour, punch the risen dough lightly.

  • Transfer it to your kitchen counter or any workplace to stretch and knead for another 2 minutes to get a soft pillowy dough.

  • Divide into 12 equal portions.

  • Flatten the dough a bit and fill it with the filling. Stretch and pull the ends to cover and close the filling. Make sure there are no open spaces.

  • Repeat it for the rest of the Dough roundels.

  • Arrange it on a baking tray and cover with a kitchen towel for another 10-15 minutes.

  • Meanwhile preheat the oven to 200-degree celsius.

  • Brush the buns with milk. (This is to achieve the Golden colour). Sprinkle it with Black or white sesame seeds. (Mixing both and sprinkling on the buns gives better eye appeal.)

  • Bake the buns for 15-20 minutes or till the top of the buns are golden brown.

  • Once taken out brush it with Butter or Butter+Garlic or Butter+Garlic+Parsley. This gives the bun their soft pillowy texture.




Cooked Beef - cut into small pieces - 1 cup (You can use any meat or Paneer)

(Marinate beef with turmeric powder, pepper powder, salt and Garam Masala before cooking.)

Onion - 1 medium - finely chopped

Garlic - 2-3 big cloves - finely chopped

Mixed Herbs - 1- 2 tsp

Salt - as per taste

Add oil to a frying pan. Sautee onion and garlic. 

Add herbs to Onion and saute till it is soft and transparent.

Add the cooked beef. Check salt. Saute for 1-2 minutes and keep aside to cool.
