Sponge Cake

Ingredients:

  • All-Purpose Flour - 1 cup

  • Powdered Sugar - 3/4 cup

  • Butter - 1 cup/ 226 grams

  • Baking powder - 1 tsp

  • Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp

  • Egg - 3

  • Salt - a pinch

Note:

All ingredients should be of room temperature.

Sieve together All-Purpose Flour, Baking Powder and Salt.

Preheat the oven to 180degree Celsius.

Butter/Oil the cake tin

 

Procedure:

  • Beat Butter and Sugar till it reaches a creamy consistency.

  • Beat in eggs 1 at a time.

  • Add vanilla essence and beat.

  • Sieve together All-Purpose Flour, Baking Powder and Salt.

  • Add the flour mixture into the egg-butter mixture.

  • Fold in till the flour mixture is well combined.

  • Pour into the cake tin and Bake for 25-30 minutes or till a skewer comes out clean when poked in the middle.

(Baking time depends on the size of the cake tin.)
